Harley Pulls a Rabbit Out of Its Hat! Meet the New Sprint 440

Harley-Davidson has just unveiled the all-new 2027 Sprint 440: a lightweight, accessible motorcycle with plenty of personality. With a starting price of $8,499+, it opens a new door to the Harley-Davidson world while staying true to the cruiser style the brand is known for.

A name that takes us back to 1961
The name Sprint echoes a Harley-Davidson motorcycle first introduced in 1961. Built in Italy by Aermacchi, the original Sprint was a lightweight motorcycle powered by a 250cc single-cylinder engine. It introduced a new generation of riders to the Harley-Davidson world.

The new Sprint 440 isn’t a replica of the original. It’s been reimagined for today, bringing back a historic name and the spirit of accessibility it represents.

Why the rabbit?
You’ll spot a little rabbit on the motorcycle. Nicknamed Harley Hare, it’s a new graphic character created for the Sprint 440 and featured on the side covers. Harley-Davidson says it represents the speed, agility and fun associated with the Sprint 440. It’s a fitting nod to the name Sprint and the motorcycle’s lightweight character.

A welcoming ride for a new generation
The Sprint 440 is designed to feel reassuring and easy to handle. It weighs 187 kg, has a 683 mm seat height and is powered by a 440cc single-cylinder engine that produces 38 Nm of torque and 27 horsepower. It also features a six-speed transmission, ABS brakes and a 3.5-inch color TFT display.
Artie Starrs, Harley-Davidson’s President and CEO, describes it as a motorcycle for new riders looking to build confidence, as well as for those returning to riding or simply looking for an easy, fun ride.

After spending a day riding the Sprint 440 in Barcelona, journalist Jérôme Ducret of ActuMoto.ch described it as “lively, full of character and accessible to a wide range of riders.”
Its size makes it well suited to city commutes and weekend rides alike. It could appeal to new riders, those returning to motorcycling after a break, or anyone looking for a lighter, more manageable Harley.
A Harley for under $10,000
The Sprint 440 is listed with a starting price of $8,499+. That puts it under the $10,000 mark before taxes and options, making the Harley-Davidson experience more accessible.
Make it your own
The Sprint 440 can be tailored to your style and needs with a range of Harley-Davidson accessories. Announced options include a quick-detach clear windshield, soft saddlebags, a sissy bar with backrest, Reach, Tallboy and Brawler Solo seats, an engine guard, and different handlebars, grips, footpegs and mirrors.
